About us

We live here. We build here.

Pathway Partners started in Puerto Princesa with a simple observation: Palawan is full of good homes, good land and good people – but too many projects are planned from far away. We wanted to do it differently: on the ground, side by side with the people who know this place best.

How we work

Local knowledge meets engineering.

Our team in Puerto Princesa runs construction, operations and guest care every day.

They know the island, the suppliers, the weather and the way things are done here. We add engineering, planning and investment. Every project is the result of both – and it only works because we listen first.

The founders

The people behind Pathway

Portrait of Yacoub Ghazzawi

Yacoub Ghazzawi

Founder & CEO

Originally from Israel, Yacoub has lived in Japan and Spain and speaks Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian, English and some Japanese. He has spent years in tourism, guiding travellers and creating tours, and is a co-founder of JOY Tours, a heritage and leisure tour company. For more than ten years he has also managed a non-profit organisation.

At Pathway he brings both worlds together: he knows what guests expect from a stay, and how an organisation has to run behind the scenes to deliver it. As CEO of our companies in Singapore and the Philippines, he leads Pathway’s operations and finances – so that our partners can rely on clear numbers and agreements that hold.

Dipl.-Ing. Alexander Riedl

Founder, Lead Engineer & Project Manager

Originally from Austria, Alex is an environmental engineer (Dipl.-Ing. in Environmental and Bioresource Management, BOKU University Vienna). He specialises in rural development and spatial planning, and he also works with ESG protocols – helping projects measure and report their environmental and social impact. He speaks German and English and is learning Tagalog.

At Pathway he turns ideas into buildings: he lives in Puerto Princesa and leads planning, construction and day-to-day projects together with our local team. He also advises hotels and other building projects on sustainable planning – from the basic concept to the building process – with a focus on natural materials, passive cooling and solar energy.

We never build alone.

We work closely with local engineers, architects and other experts in Palawan – people who know the ground, the materials and the rules here. Together with our team in Puerto Princesa, they make every project possible.

Work with us

What we stand for

Our values

Sustainable by default

We choose materials, energy and water systems for the long run – and we give existing buildings a second life before we build new ones.

Local first

We hire locally, buy locally and keep the value on the island. Libis was renovated by our local team and craftspeople from Puerto Princesa.

Clear and fair

Every agreement is in writing, and partners know what to expect before anything starts – including the owner of Libis.

In it for the long term

We don’t chase quick wins. Our decisions should still look right in ten years, for the owner, the guests and the neighbourhood.
